There are 8 sandy beaches in St Ives and Carbis Bay. There are more beaches nearby at  Hayle and Godrevy on the other side of the Hayle Estuary and there are lots of sandy coves along the West Cornwall Heritage Coast

(Note that you cannot cross the estuary at the beach, you have to go through Hayle..)
