Walks in and around St Ives & Carbis Bay

St Ives to Zennor

One of our favourite family walks is the coastal walk from St Ives to Zennor or Zennor to St Ives. Depending on where you start, you either catch the open top bus to Zennor and walk back, or walk there and catch the open top bus back.

The walk is around 6 miles long (though it feels longer!) and tracks the coastal headlands, offering incredible views of the Cornish coast. It’s a challenging hike but definitely worth it (especially if you finish at Zennor and celebrate with a well earned pint in the Tinners Arms).

The bus to and from Zennor departs from the Malakoff in St Ives and the main road in Zennor. The timetable can be found HERE.

 St Ives to Lelant

If you follow the coastal path out of St Ives via Hain Walk (past Birdsong) and down to Carbis Bay, you can then keep walking (either on the beach or via the headland depending on the tide) to Lelant and Porthkidney Sands. You can catch the train back to Carbis Bay or St Ives.  The train timetable can be downloaded HERE
